About the Role
Our client seeks a midlevel associate (2-7 years) attorney to join its Natural Resources Practice Group in Sacramento or San Francisco. This position involves representation of public and private-sector clients statewide in a broad range of environmental matters.
Associate base compensation is lockstep and determined by class year, substantive experience, and geography. Salary for attorneys at the level of experience indicated ranges from $160,000.00-$207,000.00 in Sacramento, and from $191,000.00-$239,000.00 in San Francisco. Objective and subjective bonus consideration is given for productivity and performance.
The firm supports a hybrid work environment with the ability to work remotely part of the time, and provides a relocation bonus for candidates who are not from the area in which the position is based to defray the cost of relocation and accommodate their regular presence in the office.
Requirements
2-7 years of experience in compliance counseling, regulatory permitting, and/or administrative enforcement, and/or environmental litigation in state and/or federal courts (including claims assessment, discovery, law and motion practice, and preparation of administrative records).
Knowledge in the areas of CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Water Act, the Porter-Cologne Water Quality Control Act, the Safe Drinking Water Act, the Clean Air Act, the Fish & Game Code, endangered species, and/or related fields is desired.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent analytical skills, and an attention to detail.
A distinguished academic record, as well as exceptional research and writing skills, are required.
Must be a current, active member of the California State Bar.
